New laws passed in the Turkish Parliament by the Grand National Assembly on May 20 made it easier for Turks living in Bulgaria and Greece to obtain Bulgarian and Greek passports.
On May 20, the country passed a number of laws in its push for Eurozone accession, which are aimed at offering more rights to Turks living in the two countries.

For people who have Bulgarian passports, the next step is to go to the Turkish Embassy to take a national identity card. The Greek passports will also be processed at the embassy.
Besides, the steps to obtain a certificate of honor from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism are also included in the new laws. This certificate is to be given to citizens who serve their country in various ways.
